Cheers to 30 years: A poem

Thirty years in—a milestone to cheer, So many good stories that bring us all here.

The projects, the deadlines, the meetings that ran,
The “just one more change” (that we all understand).

The pitches, proposals, the teamwork, the drive,
The laughter that kept every deadline alive.

The brainstorms that sparkled, imagination was strong,
The timelines kept shifting—yet we carried on.

And yes, the clichés—I’ll admit they’re all true,
Fueled by caffeine (and a Coke or espresso or two).

“So raise up your glasses, let’s all give a cheer, To Fusion, to friendship, and thirty great years.”

I’ve been here for twenty years—which still feels surreal,
From design-school beginnings to the full-time ordeal.

I was hired one summer, to answer the phone,
But let’s just be honest—that wasn’t my zone.
Turns out my talent was easy to see,
Design was the place that was better for me.

And Brent wasn’t “the boss,” no clipboard, no tie,
More the big brother who teases—and won’t let things slide.

From layouts to logos, from pixels to print,
Each deadline survived left its permanent imprint.

Two decades of learning, of finding my way,
And still getting better at the work every day.

Back then, making mockups meant X-Acto and glue,
Quark on our screens—and a crash or a few.

We once carried boards to present in the room,
Now it’s “can you all see my screen?” on a Zoom.

Through it all, the culture has stayed much the same,
Good people, good projects, the heart of the game.
Not stuck, not static, but always alive,
It’s people and projects that help us all thrive.

And now on to thank-yous—the best part to do,
Because Fusion’s story is nothing without you.

And first there is Brent—who’s been here since day one,
The reason this whole Fusion journey’s begun.

Now don’t worry—he’s not off retiring today,
Though some say he’s living the “lady who lunches” way.

Back on his bike, with good wine in his glass,
But still very much here—(so you’re stuck with him, alas).

Then to the team—the heart of this place,
The laughter, the talent, the grit and the grace.

And most of all you—the people right here,
Who’ve trusted in Fusion, year after year.

You’ve been part of our story, and continue to be,
The reason we’re standing at thirty, you see.

So raise up your glasses, let’s all give a cheer,
To Fusion, to friendship, and thirty great years.
